I had the sweet pleasure of capturing this homecoming at LIT a few weeks ago. Now that the family has seen the video (that makes me cry like a baby) I’m obliged to share it.![]()
Enjoy! I hope everyone can realize how very important these images are to our military families! If you volunteer for OpLove, please – fulfill your obligation to them! We’ve had some mighty big overhauls lately, and all those not following thru really need to put yourselves in their shoes.
Thank you Little Rock National Airport (LIT) and American Airlines for granting us “backstage passes”![]()
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Military Members of the United States of America!! Without YOU we would not be US!

*changed some things – see The Fine Print!
As we close the book of 2010 and open 2011 we have the opportunity to look back on events that have happened this past year.
OpLove is flourishing. We have over 1500 registered photographers across the nation. We are developing some strong connections and groups with vendors, ourselves, and other organizations… and most of all we have helped SO many families. There are still many copycat organizations – but to all our photographers, know that we LOVE everything and everyone so much. Thank you so for all you have done! Also this last year, my family picked up and moved from Colorado to Arkansas. Overall, it’s been an excellent opportunity for us. It was a really rough start, but we’ve settled in, made some wonderful new friends, and will continue to strengthen our family ties, as Craig strengthens the military.
So, to start off the New Year excitement… the first FIVE people to book (and pay for) a new session during the first FIVE days of the New Year (January 1-5, 2011), will receive a FREE…yes I said FREE 16×20 Gallery Wrapped Canvas!! (a $250 value) They are my most popular selling portrait item to date, so I am giving them away to you!! These won’t last long at all, so reserve your session now!
The Fine Print: Session to be held before June 1, 2011. Limit One per customer. Applies to newly booked sessions only. May not combine with other specials or deals. Not transferrable for cash value. No refunds or exchanges. These sessions are combined with the post on Pretty Jane Boudoir Blog.

So wish you were still in Colorado! I love your photography! Not to mention you are such a sweet & loving person!

Snow! You’d think the boys had never seen it asking crazy questions. It’s only been a year since they were playing in it with Sophie back in Denver.
Bored in the passenger seat since 3am his morning, I’m getting really tired, my eyes are red and hurt, and I really need to take out my contacts. But their case is in the back in the suitcase most buried by the other luggage, work stuff, snowboards boots and coats – oh yes, we get to scratch our itch with surfing the white flakes of Indiana. Excited, understatement.
Enjoy these lovely cell pics from my warm seat on the right as we cruise towards Chicago 75 mph.

This was a lucky/special session. Lucky for Melanie’s son… that he didn’t have to reshoot! And lucky for me because when my hard drive took a dive in the shallow pool, this was my only session on it that didn’t make it on a backup yet. That said… it was a little stressful waiting to hear back from the disk doctors if the drive would make it. Thus it did, and here they are! Melanie’s son can relax HAHA!

Great stuff, I really like the interaction between the family!

Today Natalie has a fever. She is bundled up in our bed with the new Cowcow. She has many cows.
As sad as this image is, I love it. So moody and dark as her little eyes look somberly back at me. She squeezed out a little grin before the shutter went off, but it wasn’t captured.
Poor babe. Wish I could just take it away.
Love her so much.

Oh no! Poor little nanners!
I hope she is on the mend soon!
Just as rare as the photo below, this give away will not last long, nor come again for a while!
I have recently implemented SMS marketing. It’s not spam, it’s free, and extremely useful! Let’s face it, today’s world is happening on our phones! With my new SMS program, subscribers (remember it’s free) will be reminded about their sessions, when proofs are available – even with a sneak peek!, when your galleries are about to expire, and best of all contests and specials. Our kids grow FAST! I can’t even remember Natalie teething… but I truly want to remember everything she does and because I take so many images of her, I won’t forget. I wish I had this for my boys![]()
So on with the give away.
I am giving away 4 sessions total. 2 boudoir and 2 portrait. The give away is for the session fee and maaaybe depending on how many participate I’ll throw in some products – but for right now we’ll stick with a session fee credit. You are absolutely welcome to purchase a la carte from the session once we’re in the proofing stage. To participate you can be a new client or a current client or previous client but in these cases you must have made at least a $100 purchase from any previous session, live in Arkansas or be willing to travel and txt TLPVIP to 77007 to subscribe (for free but realize that standard txt & data charges may apply from your provider.) If you choose a boudoir session, you will also receive a 25% discount from my favorite online lingerie shop! The winner will be chosen by random drawing January 1st, 2011, and the session must be shot by March 31, 2011.

Love this idea, I may start this at our studio.
In three short weeks we will have made it thru another year to look back on all the events that have happened to us this year. My family and I have been thru many experiences, good and bad… easy and hard. We’ve had many laughs, many more smiles, and some tears along our path to 2011.
Two of my bestest lady friends got hitched, and for once I was actually a bridesmaid – first wedding ever not as the photographer LOL. One of those girls had a baby! I love him and her new family is amazing. We took our first family vacation to Disneyworld. And.. we moved from Colorado to Arkansas for Craig and his new career as a recruiter for the Air Force Reserves! We really like it here, but we miss our house in Denver and our friends.
On the 23rd or so we are heading up to Indiana for the holidays. I.am.very.excited. Mainly, I just need a good break, and I really miss our family. We don’t get to see them very often because of the distance, but now we’re a whole 2 hours closer LOL. One thing that will make this year especially memorable is that Craig’s dad will meet Natalie for the first time – and we will meet his wife. I will miss Colorado this year, and snow (but there should be some in Indy waiting for us) my mom and step-father, and friends back home. I wish we could spend time on both sides of the country, but it’s very difficult for Craig to get time off right now.
Anyway… I wanted to recant on some of my favorite memories as a child around this time of year. My sister and I always had a wonderful Christmas. Our parents went out of their way to make sure December was filled with good food, a warm house, and lots of giggles. My dad – and everyone who knew him will remember – really loved Christmas, almost more then Halloween. But I think it was primarily because he was able to share the overflowing amount of joy with the many children of the community, and of course us girls. I remember, even when I was older, how my bellied father would dress up as Santa and come thru the door with his heavy work boots and gift bearing bag… sometimes it was a pillow case. After spilled booming Ho! Ho! Ho!s he would leave in his white El Camino with the Pro Body Shop magnet on the side of the door.![]()
What are some of your memories? PS- watch for a SERIOUS AWESOME special coming up… Awesome as in FREE.

Awesome post! You got me thinking about what Christmas was for me growing up. My little sister and I would always sleep in the same room on Christmas Eve. We’d wake up super early and sneak into the living room to get our stockings (the only thing we could touch til mom & dad woke up). We would hide in the bedroom and each dig through our little treasures. Then when boredom set in, we would sneak into the kitchen and chow on the cold leftover hot wings from the night before. After our parents woke up and presents were opened and breakfast was made, we weren’t even hungry! LOL
