Cocoons & Pods

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I decided that as a professional photographer I wanted a textured soft wrap of some sort for some newborn portraits after I brought her home. I started knitting cocoons. After Natalie was born, while we were in the hospital, my husband slipped her into the cocoon I brought with us. She was so comfortable, warm, and content… and she fell asleep almost immediately, sleeping for hours. My husband and nurses knew the cocoon would be a lifesaver for new daddies and mommies alike…. and I knew the cocoon was exactly what some photographers were looking for, for their photography.

My cocoons are hand knitted in tight, medium, or loose stitching. The loose stitch will allow for little toes and fingers to peek through, but still keeps baby warm and comfy. The tighter stitch hugs baby a little tighter and reminds him or her of the womb.

All cocoons must be hand washed and allowed to dry flat.

Peanut Cocoon: chunky yarn, very textured, medium normal stitching, w/head flap. Yarn has a medium elasticity.

**YOU ARE NOT BUYING THE ACTUAL PICTURED COCOON**

All cocoons are made when ordered. This unfortunately means that I have to make them on a first come first serve basis, and also why I only list 5 at a time. Typically I quote around 2-3 weeks for delivery, HOWEVER if all the listings sell in the same week, your cocoon could take UP TO 4-6 weeks for delivery. I’m very sorry, but my fingers can only work so fast. If I have to order your preferred yarn color then I have to wait for the yarn to come in before I start on your cocoon.

Yarn is baby alpaca and extremely soft. The exact peanut yarn in the main picture has been discontinued… However I can still get something similar- but it is an acrylic yarn. The alpaca is much softer.
They must be hand-washed and lay flat to dry.

I’m so sorry, but I do not ship overseas.  United States orders only.
